Well, I wouldn't ask him to change. If there is something bothering me about the way he acts, I would ask him why he acts that way...maybe he doesn't know what he is doing.
I think you already change when you start a relationship (friends, lovers, etc), but it's a self concious action, not a demanding from your partner... I mean: why would you be with someone that doesn't like as you are?
